Robert Selig on The Hudson River and the Yorktown Campaign, 1781-82
August 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Between 1 July and 26 August 1781, the Hudson River served as the main conduit of American and French personnel and supplies as it stood at the center of military activities aimed at laying siege to New York City. This presentation will look at the role the river played in the summer of 1781 with a focus on the crossing of the Hudson by the allied armies in August 1781 and of the French army in September 1782.
