Voices of the Past: Black Patriots of the American Revolution
A symposium of African-American scholars of national reputation, combined with first-person portrayals by experienced re-enactors. Children's books and others will be available to be autographed by the authors.

2017-04-01 (Saturday) in Yorktown VA:  
The Grand Opening Celebration of the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown (ARMY) will commence with 13 days of festivities on March 23-April 4, 2017, with a patriotic salute to America's 13 original states, a dedication ceremony on April 1, tours of expansive gallery exhibits, and military music and 18th-century interpretive experiences in the newly expanded Continental Army encampment and Revolution-era farm.

"Through comprehensive indoor gallery exhibits, immersive films and outdoor living history, the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown will offer a truly national perspective, conveying a sense of the transformational nature and epic scale of the Revolution and the richness and complexity of the country's Revolutionary heritage.

"Ceremonies honoring the legacy of the first 13 states in the United States of America will take place each day in the order that they ratified the Constitution -- Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina and Rhode Island. A dedication ceremony on April 1, featuring Virginia, will officially launch the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown."

2017-04-19 (Thursday) in Philadelphia PA:  
The Museum of the American Revolution (MAR) will have its grand opening. on the same spring date as when -- some two hundred and forty-two years ago -- "a shot rang out across the North Bridge in Concord, Mass., igniting the Revolutionary War and changing the course of history forever. Located in Philadelphia, the headquarters of the American Revolution, the Museum brings to life the dramatic story of our nation's founding."

Opening Day Schedule

== 8:00 AM: Washington Square Park - Open to the public
The public opening will begin with a reflective and reverential tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution in Washington Square (near Independence Hall).

== 9:00 AM: Independence Hall - Open to the public
The program will continue with pageantry and patriotic fanfare in front of Independence Hall and Liberty Bell Center.

== 10:30 AM Opening Ceremony - Ticket Required (see web link below) The official dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin in the Museum's outdoor plaza.

How to Watch It: The opening events will be live-streamed online and on video screens at the Museum's plaza. C-SPAN3 also will be airing the event live.

The museum's founding and primary benefactor is H.F. (Gerry) Lehnfest. In addition to viewing artifacts with interpretive text, visitors will have interactive experiences with the debates, battles, and imprisonments that characterized our struggle for liberty and independence.
