Inaugural Heritage Tree Lighting – December 16, 2023

Trent House Association Trustee and Secretary Christine Sampson Clark

Trent House Association Trustee and Secretary Christine Sampson Clark hosted the reception for the community organizations participating in this first annual event. Following remarks, the decorated trees along the entrance pathway were lit.

Commemoration of Dr. Carter G. Woodson’s Birthday and Celebration of Trenton Student Achievement

Trent House Association partnered with the Greater Trenton chapter of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the African American Collaborative of Mercer County, and the local chapter of Phi Delta Kappa in hosting an event on December 17, 2023, commemorating the birthday of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, considered the “father of African American history,” and celebrating the achievements of Trenton students.

Trent House Association Trustee Jocelyn Francis-White and newly elected Trustee Gerald Truehart spoke. Immediate Past President Dr. Princess Hoagland presented Association book awards to seven Trenton high school students who provided photography, videography, and sound support for the event.
