Artificers and Makers: A Living History Event

Join historical tradespeople at the Museum on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 for hands-on activities and demonstrations of the skills and trades that made a Revolution in 1770s Philadelphia.

Costumed Living History Demos

Join Benjamin Flower’s Regiment of Artillery Artificers as tailors create uniforms, woodworkers prepare military supplies, and tinsmiths discuss fabricating cookware and canteens. Engage with costumed interpreters from the Ladies Association of Revolutionary America as they portray the women who produced thousands of shirts for General George Washington’s army.

Make-and-Take Crafts & Activities
Onsite | Daily
Try your own hand at creating a soldier’s haversack at a special make-and-take table, and visit Revolution Place to try cartridge-rolling and a tin-punch lantern activity.

Women Supporting the War Effort
Onsite | Daily
Learn about Philadelphian Esther de Berdt Reed, who advocated for the rights of American women and organized them to raise money and provide supplies during the war.
