Countdown to 2026: Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary
Join Our Monthly Trail Planning Call

What?
The Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail (WARO) invites our partners and sites to begin discussions on planning for the commemoration of our nation’s 250th.
Our focus will be specific to partners and sites with historic integrity and visitor experiences relevant to the trail and its relationship to the French arrival in 1780 and Yorktown Campaign and periods of 1781 – 1782.

When?
Our first call will be on:
Wednesday, June 3, 2020
9:00-10:00am
Calls will reoccur at the same time on the first Wednesday of every month. Calls will be based on a distributed agenda, led by a facilitator, with a guest speaker on occasion.

Why?
The purpose of these calls is to share ideas and information that will be useful for planning efforts.
We have created a spreadsheet called the “Countdown Tracker” to help us collect and organize information. We hope to use this tool to assemble a menu of programs and events that will help everyone understand the entire context of trail activities. There may be opportunities to assist with funding and support for those in pursuit of grants.
Please click here to access the Countdown Tracker where you will be able to add and view:
- Key contacts for sites and programs
- Regular event programming and special events
- Signature events
- Scholarship, Studies, Planning activities
- Interpretive Media (publications, wayside exhibits, audio/visual materials, websites, and more)
- Facility improvement and restoration projects
- Land preservation needs
We will review the tracker on each call.
