Dr. William Pasteur, Witness to the Revolution – VA

Dave Pondolfino will portray Dr. William Pasteur, an eyewitness to the events of the American Revolution in Williamsburg, Virginia. A Patriot who was the official doctor to Governor Dunmore, knew George Washington, Peyton Randolph, Patrick Henry, George Wythe, and other American leaders. Pasteur witnessed the gunpowder incident and was present when Lord Dunmore threatened to burn the city to the ground and arm the enslaved population. Mr. Pondolfino will describe the events from that pivotal time that catapulted both sides into the War for Independence. Pondolfino is an historical interpreter who has portrayed many figures such as George Mason, Lord Cornwallis, Lord Dunmore, and President Harry S. Truman. He is a semi-retired registered nurse who brings his medical background and passion for history to present this special lecture.
