W3R-DE Annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony in Wilmington

On December 14, W3R-DE will host its annual Wreaths Across America ceremony in inner-city Wilmington, Delaware, along the WARO Historical Trail. This meaningful event brings together a variety of local groups to honor veterans and share the WAA message with the urban community.
This year’s ceremony will highlight several special moments:
Recognition of Unsung Heroes: Inner-city veterans will carry wreaths during the ceremony, representing their vital contributions to their communities.
A Tribute to Sgt. E6 Tony Dash: The Delaware Military Heritage Museum will present the missing medals of this Vietnam U.S. Air Force veteran to his wife, Marie.
Honoring Forgotten Heroes: The event will remember five French cavalry soldiers who died in Wilmington following the Battle of Yorktown in 1782 and were buried locally.
Revolutionary War Legacy: Wreaths will be laid at Old Swedes Church, Delaware’s largest Revolutionary War cemetery, where 28 Revolutionary War veterans rest.
With support from W3R-DE, the Old Brandywine Village Association, Wilmington Senior Center, and American Legion Posts 10 and 11, this ceremony aims to inspire and educate, especially among urban youth, about the sacrifices made for America’s freedom.
