Indian Spring on Maryland 136, was the site of Rochambeau’s Wagon Train encampment on September 10, 1781. The next day the Wagons continued south on Maryland 136 towards Bush and Baltimore. The hussars of Lauzun’s Legion of Lauzun’s Legion camped a few miles north at Poplar Springs after they had crossed the Susquehanna River.
