Lauzun’s Legion camped here on July 6/7, 1782, Camp 2 (north) since its route merged with that of French forces under comte de Rochambeau, which camped at Green Falls/Burk’s Bridge on July 9-12, 1782, their eighth camp since departure from Williamsburg, Virginia,on July 1, 1782. French forces are on their march north to re-join the Continental Army outside New York City, New York.
