Pequannok is south of Pompton Plains. The regiments possibly quartered in the huts that had served the New Jersey Line as winter quarters during the winter of 1780/81. The regiment stayed there from 14 December 1781 to mid-April 1782. The exact location of these huts is unknown. Colonel van Cortlandt made his headquarters in the Yellow Tavern.
