Honoring David Wagner on August 18, 2019

August 19th, 2019 News

Dear Rocky,

I personally thank you and your family for a very meaningful and heartfelt afternoon celebrating your brother David, and David’s lifetime of artwork depicting the American Revolution and the events along the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route. His paintings serve as a visual documentary that led to the momentous birth of the United States. His many murals that grace the halls of all manner of public buildings are an enduring reminder of these important beginnings.

Most of all, we from Connecticut and Rhode Island had the distinct pleasure of your beautiful party; of meeting the extended Wagner family and local dignitaries from Preston and Canterbury. In addition to the W3R Association plaque; kind words by Serge, Roseanne, Isabel Evelein, (and me) conveying all the best on behalf of all the W3R Association, we were all very happy and surprised to see the State of Connecticut’s honorary citation delivered by the Selectmen of Preston and Canterbury.  It was indeed really special to be surrounded David’s paintings in the Preston, CT Town Library.

So heartfelt thanks are due to all for a beautiful event honoring David Wagner, Painter of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route – National Historic Trail!

Warmest regards,
Ingrid
