Trent House News – August 2023


On July 21, 2023, the Trent House was the site for filming segments of the PBS show, “Travels with Darley.”

Host of the show, Darley Newman, interviewed Algernon Ward in his persona as a Continental soldier of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, also known as the “Black Regiment” for its recruitment of men of color.

Algernon and other re-enactors of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment will participate in the Army Meets Town – Trenton 1781 event on August 26th at the Trent House.

The 1719 William Trent House Museum is open for guided public tours Weds. – Sun. from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm (closed municipal holidays) and by appointment for school and group tours. Free parking is available in the Justice Complex parking lot next to the Trent House.

Good news!

Our handicapped lift is working, providing accessibility to the first floor of the Museum.

In-person lectures are held in the Visitor Center and are fully accessible.
