SUMMARY:Redcoats\, Rebellion\, and the Hale Homestead: An 18th-Century Encampment
DESCRIPTION:Travel back in time for a day of Revolutionary fun at Connecticut Landmarks’ Redcoats\, Rebellion\, and the Hale Homestead!\n \nCelebrate the six Hale brothers who served in the Continental Army\, and visit the encampments of both British and Continental Troops. The reenactment will feature The Fifth Connecticut and the 54th Regiment of Foot (also known as the Flaming 54th)\, as well as Revolutionary War groups from across New England and New York. Watch as they reenact the typical daily lives of soldiers and perform tactical demonstrations of period weapons\, such as drilling\, musket\, and cannon firing\, complete with a Revolutionary War battle! Visit with 18th-century crafters\, play colonial games\, and so much more! \nTour the first floor of the Nathan Hale Homestead\, and meet a Revolutionary War Field Doctor\, as the front parlor of the museum is transformed into an emergency battlefield hospital. Entrance to the 1st floor of the Homestead is included with price of admission; the complete house tour is available for a discounted rate of $5 per person. \nConnecticut Landmarks’ members are invited to stop by our VIP tent for refreshments\, a special conversation with a general\, and other surprise guests. Memberships can be purchased in advance at www.ctlandmarks.org/memberships or at the Homestead. \nAdmission is $10 for adults\, $5 for children ages 5-17\, or $25 per family (2 adults\, 3 children). \n \nAdvance tickets are recommended. Day-of event registration will be allowed as long as the site has not reached capacity. The event is sponsored in part by The Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Connecticut. \nIn order to protect the health of our staff\, visitors\, and community\, all visitors are encouraged to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Masks continue to be required within our historic interiors due to the smaller spaces and limited airflow that is common in historic buildings.
