W3R-DE President Bill Conley recently shared the story of the 1781 National Trail with ROTC students from Delaware Military Academy and student leaders from Christiana High School.
Both schools are located near the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail, giving students a direct connection to the history being discussed. During the class, students used the National Park Service Trail Guide to help reinforce the story of the 1781 march and better understand the role their local communities played in the broader history of the American Revolution.
The presentation offered students an opportunity to engage with the Trail not simply as a historic route, but as a living educational resource that connects Delaware communities to the journey of the American and French forces on their way to Yorktown.
