W3R-DE was active in Colonial Brandywine Village during the Independence Day holiday period, helping bring attention to a meaningful segment of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail in Wilmington, Delaware.
On July 7, 2026, W3R-DE participated in the Musical Faire in Brandywine Village. W3R-DE Vice President Francena Chalfant and Wilmington artist Jimmy Thompson helped share National Park Service National Trail pamphlets with visitors, offering an opportunity to connect the evening’s community gathering with the history of the Trail.
In the days leading up to the 4th of July, W3R-DE also decorated the plaza and surrounding Trail segment with American flags. This section of the Delaware Trail passes through Colonial Brandywine Village, where General George Washington, General Lafayette, and General Nathanael Greene were frequent visitors during the Revolutionary era.
The effort reflects W3R-DE’s ongoing commitment to preserving, interpreting, and promoting the Trail in local communities. Through public outreach, visible Trail stewardship, and participation in neighborhood events, W3R-DE continues to help residents and visitors discover the Revolutionary history that runs through Wilmington.
