Delaware’s only Revolutionary War battlefield stands as sacred ground. In 1777, Colonial soldiers clashed here as British & Hessian forces marched toward Philadelphia, the nation’s capital. Twenty-four soldiers remain in unmarked graves.
Since 2010, W3R-Delaware has worked with the Pencader Historical Association to honor this site—helping erect monuments to those who fought in 1777 and to Washington & Rochambeau’s combined armies, who crossed this very ground in 1781 on their way to Yorktown.
