President of the Delaware chapter of W3R, Bill Conley, had the honor of coordinating and welcoming the 55 vehicle “Wreaths Across America” convoy as it passed through on its journey from Maine to Arlington Ceremony. During the ceremony, 20 Gold Star families from Delaware and nearby states were honored with special wreaths donated by the WAA family.
Bill is a veteran, and the son of and father to veterans. He honors today’s veteran families and also brings the story of the earliest veterans who participated in the March to Yorktown to every wreath laying ceremony.
The Wreaths Across America project was started in 1992 by Morrill Worcester, owner of Worcester Wreath Company, in Harrington, Maine. His goal was to provide wreaths for every grave in Arlington Cemetary. It has grown tremendously to 300 additional military cemeteries in America and 24 overseas.
